Hello! I'm Natalie Meeuwsen, a retired educator, author, and lifelong learner with an unwavering passion for teaching and bringing JOY to education.
For 31 wonderful years, I had the privilege of teaching elementary school in Tigard, Oregon. My journey also took me to classrooms in Thailand, Uganda, and Spain, where I discovered that no matter where children live, they all want to feel seen, valued, and connected. My students taught me just as much as I taught them, and those relationships continue to inspire me.
After five years of writing, reflecting, and revising, I'm thrilled to share my first published book, How Are the Children? Creating a Love of Learning Through Connection, Community and Joy. Through personal stories and practical strategies, I hope to inspire educators and anyone who believes in the power of education to create environments where children thrive.
